Get To Know Mach, the Kernel of Mac OS X

An anonymous reader writes "Linux is a kernel, not an operating system. So what is Mac OS X's kernel? The Mach microkernel. The debate around Monolithic (Linux) and Micro (Mach) kernels continues, and there is a great chapter online about the Mach system from the very good book 'Operating System Concepts'. Which design is better? I report, you decide." Warning: link is to a PDF.

Hell yes. I have both the Schick Quattro and the Gillette Mach3, and the Quattro is terrible with getting clogged up with hair... Maybe if I shaved every day it wouldn't be a problem, but I only shave once a week, and the Quattro is just unusable. After every stroke, it's so clogged that I literally have to pull the hairs out by running my thumb over the blades (the opposite way, so it doesn't cut my thumb). The Mach3 is an absolute godsend in rinseability.
