Three Metal Gear Solid Titles In the Works
Konami's press conference had lots of good news for the Metal Gear Solid fan, reports Gamespot. Three new MGS titles are currently in the works for this and the next generation of consoles. Metal Gear Solid 4 will see the light on Sony's next console, the Playstation 3. Metal Gear Acid 2 is already in development for the PSP, and in the spirit of many of the past MGS titles, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence will offer a remix of the original Snake Eater experience. From the article: "...this content will likely appeal to many who have already played Snake Eater. Foremost, it will feature online multiplayer action, with Kojima saying his team was aiming for a maximum of eight players. The online portion will sport two modes: 'Snake vs. Enemies,' where multiple players hunt down one opponent and 'Team Battle' with multiple players fighting cooperatively."
MG:Ac!d really got an unfair bashing in most of the mainstream online games mags.
I've been sitting playing it for the last few weeks on my psp and think its great.
I most definantly look forward to picking up a sequal asthere just arn't that many tactical board game/combat cards out (plenty of just combat card style).
Its was just a breath of fresh air to have something with a slightly more origional slant than your yug-i-ohs or Magic-the gatherings.
thankfully i never picked up metal gear 3 yet as i had an incling they would do something like this and it annoyed me a great deal when it happend with MGS:2
.
Its good to know they are not listening to the bad(as in the review was) reviews for MG: acid as most of the reader reviews were good for it(the reason i decided to get it).
The only things certain in war are Propaganda and Death. You can never be sure which is which though
Metal Gear Solid: the only game where there's more talking about fighting, than actual fighting!
While I'm probably not going to throw down another $50 for another version of Snake Eater, it sounds like they threw in some cool additions. The original MSX games, Metal Gear, Metal Gear: Solid Snake, are a nice touch. After this and Namco adding Tekken 1-3 in Tekken 5, I hope this is a continuing trend for big game franchises. Both the games are worth checking to see where MGS came from.
The games are even more interesting if you're only familar with the NES Metal Gear games. The first Metal Gear(MSX) differs a lot from the NES(the biggest difference being that the NES version doesn't have Metal Gear in it!). Also there was a psuedo-squel for the NES called Snake's Revenge, but it doesn't hold a candle to the MSX Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. In the game, you'll see where a lot of elements of MGS series came from. And if you're too impatient to wait for this release try downloading a MSX emulator and the old ROMS(you're on your own for that one for that link but they shouldn't be too hard to find).

I'm waiting for another MG game for a Nintendo system! Twin Snakes rocked and created a bunch of Nintendo fanboys that aren't willing to buy a PS, but are willing to buy a sequel if it comes out for their favorite system.
Three new titles, and none still for the PC...I haven't played a Metal Gear since the good ol' days of "all your base are belong to us."
One man's Funny is another man's Offtopic.
But Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance also came out for the XBOX. Which system is this game going to be on?
