3rd Field Robot Event Takes Place June 16-17

Arleo writes "Its time to bring your robot to Wageningen University for the third annual scientific field robot contest. Can your robot navigate through rows of crops or even harvest them? Tweak your robot and bring it on june the 16th and 17th. Or have a look at the photos and proceedings of last year's contests."

If by "navigate" you mean "trample" and by "harvest" you mean "slaughter", then yes!

You'll have to save that for the freestyle task.

If a robot needs to vibrate and be a cylindrical shape...then yes my robot can do that!!! GNAA rulez.

Ah finally autonomous robots that do something useful instead of playing football, destroying each other or lifting the elderly.

Last time I saw the event it was definitely worth going. But then, I passed it on my way home.

    Posts.

    Ever.

4 posts in 55 minutes. I guess that the only thing more boring than an article about an empty field is an empty field with a couple of robots roaming around in it.

It's not boring at all...it just had the misfortune of being posted immediately after a 'Star Wars' related story.

Of course, now it's a full day later, and there are only 8 posts including this one. It sounds boring, but some of the robots are actually pretty interesting, like this one.
