RPG Creator Elaborates on 360 Titles

Hironobu Sakaguchi elaborated for an issue of Famitsu, and Gamespot reports, on the two upcoming 360 titles that he's been involved with. He discusses details on Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, cluing already interested fans into the bad news that it will be quite a while before they get a chance to take the titles home. From the article: "Sakaguchi revealed that one of the two role-playing games is slated for release within a year from the console's launch, and the other is scheduled to follow within two years. However, he didn't disclose which game would be coming out first."

When I read "RPG creator" I assumed they meant some guy who actually invented the RPG itself, leading to the assumption that 360 referred to some ancient computer system. That's quite a misunderstanding...

I figure many people will be calling it just "The 360" or "360"...hell I've already done it a couple times myself. PS. After last night's showing of Episode 3, your sig is no longer valid ;)

Great. What's next, Game Developers telling us about games they're planning to plan to release when they begin planning?

  5. Isn't this Final Fantasy's Original Creator? by auachapan · · Score: 1

I think the reason they're focusing on this guy is because he is or is one of Final Fantasy's original creators who left Square around the time it merged with Enix or when they lost all that money on FF: Spirits Within.

I think it's significant that Microsoft is making inroads into one of the largest RPG franchises (not necessarily FF, but it's creators) we've seen. Both with Sakaguchi and with the annoucement about FF XI.

Square switching to Sony from Nintendo seemed to be one of the major factors in the Playstation's success over the Nintendo 64 (Final Fantasy VII), and while this may not make the Xbox 360 come out the victor in the next bout of "console wars" it will, I belive, be an influential factor, and therefore any news about what's going in these aspects is interesting.

    That's all.

If Japanese developers think Xbox 360 fanboys are going to play Japanese RPGs, they've got a whole generation's worth of disappointment and poverty coming. The whole point of Microsoft's systems like the Xbox is that stupid American idiots get to play stupid American games.

NOT POSTED FROM LYNX, BECAUSE THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE NOW.
