Futurama May Strike Back (on DVD)

Nik writes "Hot on the heels of Family Guy's revival, Can't Get Enough Futurama is reporting that 'there is renewed talk at FOX about bringing fresh Futurama content directly to DVD.' While nothing is confirmed at this point, it is apparently the first time that a division of Fox has considered producing new episodes of the animated sci-fi series in some time."

Why can't it just die. Simpsons, family guy and futurama are all pretty much the same show with different coloured characters and situations. all the jokes are pretty much identical so does it matter if one dies?

If they do actually port scan you, its probably to fingerprint your IP. /. occasionally blocks people from posting from an IP where too many "modded down" anon posts orignated. Sometimes this is because of NAT and your neighbor is doing the crappy posting. Otherwise, its you. Either way, you should always be able to post while logged in.

Then of course, if you care about your "karma" and mod status frequency, you'll have to tow the line and agree to hate microsoft, the US, american republicans, any tv that isn't SciFi, the Christian God, any popular music, or in fact any finacially successful venture. You will also be required to love socialism, linux, underdogs in general, peta, macintoshes, gun "control", video games, failed tv shows, conspiracy theories, etc.

Hope this helps, and happy posting!

    Fantastic news, yes.

Now, will this new DVD series be funny? I think the original run of Futurama would have been a lot better if they made it funny.

Modding the first to -1 Troll is just silly. Although the second one is inflammatory, one should only be inflamed if he was its target -- one of the two humorless douche bag moderators who modded me down the first time. The second post was modded down too.

I fully expect this post to be modded down too.

They're checking to see if you're a proxy server. Trolls and other people whom the editors/moderators disagree with will often post through HTTP proxies to hide their real IPs. As such, Slashdot attempts to check to see if you're a proxy and if so, ban you from posting.

(This may also explain why posting is so damn slow.)
