Kevin Rose Leaving G4 to start Internet Only Show
Quantum Jim writes "Kevin Rose, one of the famous contributors and co-hosts of The Screen Savers, is leaving this week to concentrate on a new technology howto show called Systm. The Systm will be an internet-only show distributed free (as in beer AND speech) in a number of formats: Theora, Xvid, WMV, H.264, and PSP (what's that?). There will be bittorrent trackers available too! If only I had broadband..."
God knows that he and Morgan Webb were the only things worth watching on that sinking ship of a channel...

Yea its deffnatly time for a push with internet tv. If it gets enough attention it should spur on a whole revolution. Kinda like the whole podcasting thing...

I've always been a fan of the screen savers but some of the newer people on the show are complete idiots. I'm glad to see he is going out on his own.
My favorite segment had to be the dark tips where Kevin would show how to hack XBOX, sniff network data, ect. Now that this segment will no longer be FCC controlled, I would imagine the segments may be much more interesting.
He may not be far off by going on his own either - MSNBC has an article linked from the msn.com homepage on the proliferation of InternetTV and it's niche market capability.
Be sure to remember the Programmers Prayer
Well, actually he was fired, he just didn't up and leave. But still, even though this was not too surprising, it's really wierd what Comcast has done to the once TechTV. Damn them.

I mean, a hot chick that's into computers... how often does that happen?
Michaela Pereira, who was the anchor on the TechTV nightly news program, seemed to be genuinely interested in tech. She is continuing with her tech interests on the KTLA Morning News...she seems to have a genuine knowledge and love of it. And yes, she's cute.
Soledad O'Brien, who was the original host of The Site on first MSNBC, then ZDTV, also seemed to be genuinely interested in technology. I seem to remember she was also on a syndicated tech program before that. She's now on CNN and apparently no longer on the tech beat. Pity. I haven't seen her show (it airs very early PDT) but I seem to remember she was fairly attractive.
Then again, I'm a hetero female and should qualify my opinions on female pulchritude accordingly.
