This just shows how sad innovation is in the Open Source market. These are the kinds of systems we should be innovating most because we use them most; clunky interfaces and useless features suck when it comes to task management and email.

Recent security issues in open source products have convinced me that obscurity provided by closed source is far superior security-wise.
This really shows the lack of innovation in the GUI development - why does everyone want to make everything GUI look like MS Win, when there is an opportunity not to? I've yet to see an efficient and nice looking GUI from any of these guys.
Forget about bloated calender programs and graphical file-managers taskbar and Start-menu-in-lower-left-corner, hell all i want is a terminal to work from. In my opinion the whole point/click/drag/drop is an overrated and slow way of interacting with a computer.
I'll stick to the productivity setup of xterm/rxvt, fluxbox, vi/vim, elm/mutt, lynx/elinks.
