TIE Fighter Case Mod
serutan writes "Extreme Tech just kicked off their weekly case mod contest. The first winning entry is a scale model of a Star Wars TIE Fighter that's both a computer case and a desk. The rig is crafted out of PVC, plywood, a pet exercise ball, and bondo (so basically it's pretty much like the real thing)."
I must say, I am way more impressed by this than pretty much any other case mod I can think of....it is both cool looking and functional....and I think even non-geeks would find it nifty.

You are correct, sir. Update the graphics and lead the gameplay alone (just add more ships and up the AI). Oh, and include all of the expansion packs, and bring back the X-Wing capability where you could build up other pilots and then use them as your wingmen...
I would drop 200 bucks for that game.
Seriously though, case modding is really fun for people who don't have the money to add performance to their PC. In fact, you can find various things around the house to make your case Martha Stewart friendly!
God you're a fucking tool! OK, I think that a lot of case mods are silly, and I think that a lot of Star Wars fans are silly. But this is a pretty cool and creative case mod and desk. Here's someone who has a passion and the creativity to express it. Isn't that a big part of being a geek? I think it's pretty cool myself, even if I wouldn't want one for in my house. (Although I'm surprised that Lucas hasn't licensed this out to Herman Miller as a design for office cubicles. God knows he's whored out everything else in Star Wars)
