The magazine is freely available to all digitally, using a Flash-based in-browser reader, and print subscriptions are free to US subscribers. Some of the article contributors for the first issue include Brian Behlendorf, Marc Fleury, John Koenig and Bernard Golden, among others."

An Open-Source magazine with a Flash reader...greeeaaat. Three guesses as to what the majority of the letters to the editor will be about...

These fuckers also added me to their mailing list. No I didn't sign up for it, nor did I confirm in any way. And SpamAssassin didn't catch it until the bayesian stuff learnt to treat their crap with the respect it deserves.

  2. I don't like that Flash PDF reader and no PDF yet! by rklrkl · · Score: 3, Insightful

I really don't like that Flash PDF reader and it's quite poor of an "Open Source" mag to use a closed source reader ! As for where the original PDF is, if you trace through the connections using Firefox and Live HTTP Headers, it turns out that the repository should be there (there's a URL in the XML) but it isn't yet! If it does turn up, it'll be at this address for the first issue (at the moment, it just redirects to a not found PDF) - you'd need to adjust the date part of the URL to get to later issues.
