GTA Sex Game Rumour Control
Gamespot's most informative Rumour Control column this week takes aim at a hilarious GTA rumour floating around the internets. From the article: "According to Gtasanandreas.net, one of its users had 'discovered a few sections of unused code in the PS2 version of San An[dreas] for the girlfriend 'missions.' With a bit of memory hacking and such, he discovered these removed portions of mission scripting were to not only put the camera inside the girlfriends' house when you stop in for 'coffee,' but also to make a little mini-game of it." Their final verdict was that the "mini-game" was, of course, Bogus. Funny, though. They also discuss LucasArts' support for the Revolution, the Sonic MMOG, and Nvidia PS3 real-time demos.
If it's not real, what's this mod unlocking?
Not a Twitter sockpuppet... but I wish I was.
I've seen shampoo commercials that were more arousing.
There's a thread on gtaforums (may require registration) about this mod. My copy of San Andreas is still, uh, in the mail so I have yet to try it myself. GTAForums (or its predecessors) have been around for quite a while. Compilers exist for GTA3 and Vice City. If Rockstar included the code in the game, even without linking to it in their scripts, they must have known it was going to be unlocked. I'm impressed at how quickly it was done.
Everyone seems to have jumped on the not-true bandwagon awfully quick. The mini-game sex animations are all in the game data, and the voice actors even did the voice acting for them. Among all this disbelief I posted a quick video at http://www.gtasanandreas.net/news/index.php/ with a video that should disprove any doubt.
