Performance of OpenOffice.org and MS Office

I wrongly assumed that since I paid for it, it must be better, but recently I have noticed that it seems slow, so I decided to try OpenOffice.org to see if it is faster. I compared Writer and Word to see which one is faster and consumes less resources. The results are posted on my website."

Why the hell is this even on Slashdot in the first place? Who is this guy? Is he anyone I should know? Is he known to be an authority on anything?
