Microsoft is planning to peel away some of Apple's iTunes success with the launch of its own online music subscription service. According to reports, the software giant said last week that offering a subscription service was an important step in helping people find and discover great music online.
Experts predict the service will allow subscribers to play any track they've bought from iTunes on devices other than the iPod, such as Microsoft's Xbox 360, and that will cut a slice out of Apple's 82 per cent dominance of the digital download business.
