iTunes 4.9 With Podcasting Support

eakthecat writes "Hot on the heels of the 4.8 release, Apple has released the next version of its popular iTunes jukebox software. Version 4.9 incorporates several new features, most notable of which is podcasting. The front page and iTunes webpages have not been updated yet, but you can get your greedy little hands on it or through the new podcasting link in the music store! !"

Apple getting dumped by IBM is going to put a quick end to the iPod fad.

In a year Apple is going to be struggling to survive as just another overpriced x86 OEM. Media companies know this, are going to start distancing themselves quietly and looking for new partners to take Apple place over the next year or two as revenues/profits start to dry up.

It was fun while it lasted, but Steve's tempertantrum/unwillingness to pay for a mobile PPC chip is going to be the death of the company over the next couple of years.

      4) One of those morons who thinks that the success of the iPod/iTunes is completely unrelated to anything between IBM/Apple or the Mac processor architecture

How naive for him to think that.

    a) where did iPod have ANYTHING to do with this question other than that people call it podcasting cause 80% of the players out there are iPods.

    b) Who are you to say its a whiny kid. Most podcasts are made by major figures who instead of or along with using radio, also put out a mp3 file of their show. Two of the podcasts I recently heard where actually director commentary for Battlestar, and Enterprise, I certainly thing a director of a show would have some authorrity on something.

A pure troll plain and simple and should be modded as such.

You call this software? This bloated piece of crap disgusts me! When I think of Apple I think of hairstylists prancing around rainbows. By the way is Peter Rojas gay? Can someone verify this shit? Stick with iPodder folks. This sorry excuse for a program is filled with commercialized podcasts from snobby celebrities that would spit in your face if you looked at them the wrong way. That's right Steve Jobs... I'm talking about you! You waste of a human being. I know how you treat your employees! By the way... I KNOW your reading this!

  4. So, what did Apple remove this time? by bogie · · Score: 0, Troll

Unless you've been hiding under a rock you would know that with every release Apple tightens down Itunes and makes it less and less useable by taking away features and stripping away ways access to your own music. You know, things like reducing the number of times you can burn a playlist, taking away internet sharing, and then taking away unlimited Lan sharing. Now its what? 5 lousy users a day that can connect to your shared music? I'm just waiting for Apple to remove sharing and cd burning all together. If you think that isn't their long term goal your kidding yourself.

Seriously WTF? Would any other company be able to get away removing features release after release in an attempt to control what you can do with YOUR music? My guess is no.

  5. Slashdot has a history of hating iPod by bonch · · Score: -1, Troll

CmdrTaco said: "No wireless. Less space than a nomad. Lame." On the day of iPod's launch. In another article, he actually took the effort to say it again: "Apple just released a lame mp3 player."

Nobody knows what the deal is with Slashdot's irrational hatred of iPod and iTunes, but they sure seem to love everything else about Apple.
