Slashdot Mirror

Eclipse 3.1 Released

Hergio writes "Eclipse 3.1, the popular IDE, has finally been released. There have been a lot of products waiting for Eclipse 3.1 to go final before progressing, so this is great news not only for the developers who use Eclipse directly, but for those who use tools built on top of Eclipse. The site and all its mirrors appear to be getting hammered, so plan on waiting a day or so to get your copy. Do any Slashdotters know of any lesser known mirrors?"

It's not so much the fact that people make mistakes that annoys so much here ... to err is human after all.

What's really annoying is that the developers willfully ignore the issue and refuse to put in the anti-dupe automation that could so easily catch dupes, like hundreds of people have said in the past.

We have the itch, but it's the Slashcode devs that need to scratch it (it's no use us changing our copy), and there seems to be no desire for that particular improvement among them. Total crap.

One of those links takes you directly to a win32 download. However, for the Linux developers as well (there are a few different variations of it in the directory so please select one to your liking)

NOTE: These also have variations of eclipse for the Mac and win32 users as well.

For those just joining the waking world, Eclipse is not referring to a chewing gum, a Japanese car, or a celestial event, but if you can remember at least twenty-four hours back, then you knew that.
