Eclipse 3.1 Released
Hergio writes "Eclipse 3.1, the popular IDE, has finally been released. There have been a lot of products waiting for Eclipse 3.1 to go final before progressing, so this is great news not only for the developers who use Eclipse directly, but for those who use tools built on top of Eclipse.
The site and all its mirrors appear to be getting hammered, so plan on waiting a day or so to get your copy. Do any Slashdotters know of any lesser known mirrors?"
Great! Another dup!
What are you editors on?
Slashdot - News for Nerds, Stuff that Matters, in ISO-8859-1 Has just realised that beta makes this signature redundant
This could get ugly.

"Update: 06/28 21:03 GMT by Z : Denis emailed to request we use mirrors, as they're already getting hammered pretty hard."
NOTHING can stop the SLASHDOT ARMADA!

Internet Explorer (n): Another bug -- that is, a feature that can't be turned off -- in Windows.
Do you really have so little regard for your jobs that you can't take 5 seconds to do a browser search of the front page ('eclipse' would have found this dupe, and 'fusion' would have found the first)? Un-fucking-believable!
HEHeHehehehehehe.... dupes dupes everywhere... and only 3 posts down :(
Here's one!
have a look at the mirrors found on this page

It's not so much the fact that people make mistakes that annoys so much here ... to err is human after all.
What's really annoying is that the developers willfully ignore the issue and refuse to put in the anti-dupe automation that could so easily catch dupes, like hundreds of people have said in the past.
We have the itch, but it's the Slashcode devs that need to scratch it (it's no use us changing our copy), and there seems to be no desire for that particular improvement among them. Total crap.
A few generous people on Quakenet offered these to the public-

2 WB K3
p se/downloads/drops/R-3.1-200506271435/ p se/R-3.1-200506271435/
Here is one for win32 users.

There's also a magnet link (which is supported by most peer to peer programs such as Limewire and Ares) located at
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:BW6W3QUP7CD23KZRGZG4BK7M4LX
If those don't work try using Net magnet 4.0.
One of those links takes you directly to a win32 download. However, for the Linux developers as well (there are a few different variations of it in the directory so please select one to your liking)
NOTE: These also have variations of eclipse for the Mac and win32 users as well.

Happy coding all!
is better at spotting dupes than the "editors".
It's official. Most of you are morons.
I'm surprised such a large open source project could be so careless as to releasee version 3.1 twice in two days! Makes me question the quality altogether. That's it.. I'm moving to netbeans.
ahh... soft soothing dupes... no jarring new information in the morning, just cushy favorites from days past...
Incompotent /. editors.

I always wait until Genuitec has released their version, with all its bells and whistles. Works on Win32, OSX and Linux with hundred+ plugins already configged and ready to go; those guys rock.

I hadn't heard about Eclipse enough at all. I mean, the last time someone told me about this, was... oh, yesterday. Right here on Slashdot. So like, uh, keep up the good work.
For those just joining the waking world, Eclipse is not referring to a chewing gum, a Japanese car, or a celestial event, but if you can remember at least twenty-four hours back, then you knew that.
