'DVD Jon' Breaks Google Video Lock

Uh, if you alias "video.google.com" to 127.0.0.1 then you wont be able to view any videos that aren't hosted locally.

BTW, a hack is a hack - not matter how trivial it may be to you. To me the more important story is how this exposes a weakness in OSS (from Googles POV). Its trivial to change the source code. If the player was CSS it would be much less trivial. I don't know how google will respond. Perhaps with a CSS player?

    minor fix to a program

I think you are mistaken. It is not a "minor fix" but a "minor hack". Fixing it implies that it was broken, I am pretty sure it was not borken - just had a feature that Jon did not like.
