Because our nation's actions since 2001 have been shameful. An invasion and occupation based on lies, detentions without due process, torture, kidnapping, fiscal irresponsibility, the subjugation of science for political ends, etc. I was proud of my nation before, and with luck I'll be proud of it again someday.
