Canadian Telco Admits to Blocking Union's Website
Nogami_Saeko writes "Canadian telephone company and ISP "Telus" has admitted that they are blocking all attempts to access a website set up by the employee's union (who is currently "on-strike" or "locked-out", depending on your point of view). Currently no customers of the Telco's ADSL service (or any other ADSL service provider who leases lines) can access the union's webpage. Is it reasonable for an ISP to censor webpages they don't agree with during contract negotiations?"
Since when do people who actually dare to work deserve such juvenile insults? Since the site involves lazy bums (strikers) harassing real working people, it should be taken down or blocked.
Wow, I'm actually surprised to see the (presumably) mostly white-collar crowd of Slashdot being on the side of the union. The unions you are fighting for are raising the prices of the goods and services you use. They are corrupt, and care nothing about their members. Of course, we've had this discussion before on Slashdot.
I've seen countless manufacturing companies disappear here because the unions made them anti-competitive. I can't really see how anyone would be pro-union, even blue-collars. They screw you with Union dues, which they use to lobby for political causes that you may or may not agree with, and then they screw you by helping you lose your job. Union YES!
I would have blocked their asses too if it was legal to do so. Then again, I guess us westerners are used to bending over backwards for our enemies so not to offend them.
