UEFI Formed to Replace BIOS

The non-profit corporation will assume responsibility for the development and promotion of the EFI specification, a pre-boot interface originally developed by Intel that is intended to replace the aging PC BIOS."
Trust me, Linux might work on it, but copying other software created or installed on those other operating systems will NOT be easy. This time, the DRM is in the silicon.
