Update on Standards and CSS in IE7
brajesh writes "Chris Wilson has posted on IEBlog about the Standards and CSS in IE7. According to the post, "In IE7, we will fix as many of the worst bugs that web developers hit as we can, and we will add the critical most-requested features from the standards as well. Though you won't see (most of) these until Beta 2". Further,"we will not pass this (Acid2 browse) test when IE7 ships.""
if IE can't keep up with the rest of the browsers, then it should stop trying. I mean, if you can't maintain and be compliant with the standards, then why even try? you're upsetting a lot of people, and wasting a lot of time and money. Either catch up, or give up.

Let's face it - Microsoft will never program a web browser that will pass the Acid2 test. That's not Microsoft's sort of thing. Gates is more interested in crashing and setting bad standards.
Go to the w3.org and put Slashdot.org through the validator.
Is he basically saying "Oh we'll support everything that most people want, and yes it's a good program and will fix the known bugs. But we won't be able to pass tests such as this one"
Nice work. I also like the part where "All those features won't be available til Beta 2"
Nice of them to bite themselves in the butt.
simIlarLy grisly
I'd really like to see them fix the 404 loop that's existed in IE since... oh, I dunno... ever?
Go to http://osdn.net/gjhjhfewkjfa (ovbiously not a real page). You'll get a 404. From there, immediately go to http://osdn.net/gdsjashejk (yet another obvious error). Next, begin slowly clicking the back button. After 2 clicks, you're stuck.
It doesn't affect it's usability, but it sure does affect my opinion of their software.
Long signatures suck.
This is in reference to your comment- Lick my Schweaty Nut Sack, Be-atch!
Is it too much to ask to fix PNG!?!?!?!?
