Intel to Drop Low-end Chipsets

SimilarityEngine writes "Intel is planning to terminate production of its 910GL, 915GL and 915PL chipsets by the end of August, as part of a shift in focus towards higher-spec products, possibly with support for new FSB architectures, multi-core processors and a host of other much-requested features relating to virtualisation and security."

I kept my silence when Mr. SimilarityEngine announced he wanted to make bargains with the devil. I did nothing when he tried to promote the abhorrent ideals of lackadaisical, self-indulgent publishers of hate literature. But his latest undertakings are the straw that breaks the camel's back. As a preliminary, I want to embrace diversity. In case you don't know, he is deliberately manipulating the facts. So let him call me contumelious. I call him pestiferous. To be fair, he argues that I am avaricious for wanting to explain a few facets of this confusing world around us. I should point out that this is almost the same argument that was made against Copernicus and Galileo almost half a millennium ago. Doesn't it strike you as odd that the outcome of the struggle will ultimately be decided based on the number and influence of people fully informed about SimilarityEngine's subliminal psywar campaigns, committed to SimilarityEngine's defeat, and organized under sound leadership? Quite simply, SimilarityEngine confuses demagoguery with leadership and undocumented conspiracism with serious research. He will almost certainly tiptoe around that glaringly evident fact, because if he didn't, you might come to realize that he does not merely condemn innocent people to death. He does so consciously, deliberately, willfully, and methodically. There's a time to keep silent and a time to speak. There's a time to love and a time to hate. There's a time for war and a time for peace. And, I claim, there's a time to find the common ground that enables others to search for solutions that are more creative and constructive than the typically Pecksniffian ones championed by slimy turncoats. Or, to put it less poetically, SimilarityEngine complains a lot. What's ironic, though, is that he hasn't made even a single concrete suggestion for improvement or identified a single problem with the system as it exists today. If we are powerless to address a number of important issues, it is because we have allowed SimilarityEngine to increase society's cycle of hostility and violence. Would he like it if I were feral and bloodthirsty, too? I don't think so. Let me try to put this in perspective: I'll tell you what we need to do about all the craziness he is mongering. We need to bring him to justice. What SimilarityEngine doesn't realize is that in a recent essay, he stated that chauvinism is a viable and vital objective for our nation's educational institutions. Since the arguments he made in the rest of his essay are based in part on that assumption, he should be aware that it just isn't true. Not only that, but all of the bad things that are currently going on are a symptom of his nugatory notions. They are not a cause; they are an effect. As we all know, anyone who says that he is the best thing to come along since the invention of sliced bread can be branded as both rapacious and vicious. According to the latest scientific evidence, many people respond to SimilarityEngine's infernal commentaries in much the same way that they respond to television dramas. They watch them; they talk about them; but they feel no overwhelming compulsion to do anything about them. That's why I insist we develop an alternative community, a cohesive and comprehensive underground with a charter to rage, rage against the dying of the light. Okay, I've vented enough frustration. So let me end by saying that some of Mr. SimilarityEngine's backers once admitted -- after considerable tergiversation -- that yes, he had secretly plotted to procure explosive devices, gasoline, and detonators for use in an upcoming campaign of terror.
