Firefox Share Slipped in July for the First Time

prostoalex writes "Between June and July of this year, Firefox lost 0.64% of the users, while Microsoft IE gained the same amount, leaving other browsers at their usual zero point something share. Could recent security problems and lack of stability, reported by some users, lead to the decline of the browser that just passed 80 million downloads?" I think the other thing to remember is that while ~8% seems a lot, there's a still a huge amount of ground to cover -- and a number change like this is statistical noise. I should point out that my issue with noise isn't the absolute numbers; it's the somewhat inadequate measurements tools for this.

LOL losing 8% of its installed base is "statistical noise". You can bet if that had been 8% in the other direction the headline would have been "Firefox gains 8% market share".

Why don't someone create a worm that installs FireFox, while making it seem, to the average non-tech savvy Internet Explorer, that s/he is still using IE?

I know it would be sneaky, but I think the ends would justify the means.

Fucktard here apparently lost her ability to read approximately a year ago when she became a Slashdot reader. What part of "get a fucking life" don't you understand? Isn't it obvious by now that you haven't the first clue what you're talking about? Jesus, were you sitting on the Stupid Stump while you were being beated with the Stupid Stick? Do us all a favor and read something that's more up your alley, perhaps Mickey Mouse would be a good start. Something tells me even he won't be able to control his negative reaction when you make stupid remarks such as this one.

Even more disturbing than SpankMonkey's retarded reply is the fact that who knows how many dipshit moderators decided it was Insightful. Hint: The pretty picture in her signature does not mean she knows what she's talking about. If you would learn to fucking read, it would be painfully obvious. Now go sit in a corner and think about what you've done.
