Carmack's QuakeCon Keynote Detailed
TheRaindog writes "In addition to announcing the Quake III source code's impending release, John Carmack's QuakeCon 2005 keynote also covered the programmer's thoughts on Microsoft and Sony's next-gen consoles, physics acceleration in games, and what he'd like to see from new graphics hardware."
Ok, so maybe reading their own site is too much work to prevent dupes, but can they really not spell check the title?
The sample rendering you give there looks pretty amateur to me... I don't think you have a clue about creating realistic renderings!
On that link you can find all opinions by professional game physics programmers, and their opinions.
Yeah, whatever. What I'm really interested in is their opinions.
Help me take back Slashdot. When did 'News for Nerds' become 'FUD and Conspiracy Theories for Extremist Nutjobs'?
Don't talk bullshit. John C. has nothing to do with Duke Nukem 3D and Unreal.
Besides that, if there is one person damaging all things Americans worked hard for, it would be your fellow citizen G. W. Bush and his friendly government.
"Microsoft and Sony's next-gen consoles" WTF?
Hey MORONS, there's more to next-gen consoles than Xbox360 and PS3... It's called Nintendo Revolution, and it's the ONLY console I'm going to buy.
This is the same crap as on the computer side... "Windows and Linux blablabla".... What about Mac OS X?
I'm an Apple+Nintendo user. I want my stuff to "just work" and I don't want a console to make me go "whoa check out the 64-pass anti-aliasing HDTV graphics with 5.1 surround sound". Nintendo still makes GAMES, Microsoft and Sony are lost into their own hype without substance.
