i mean seriously it seems like the dumbest move in history, i mean microsoft manages to fit three bugs in a 512k boot rom in the original xbox but to take out the main apeal of the xbox in that every unit has a HD so developers can take full advantage of it, gah, it boggles the mind

Q: Why doesn't wifi work out of the box? A: we worked with game designers and talked to hard core gamers and asked them what their top priorities were and the bulk of our investment went into the silicon to the cpu and the gpu so we would have kick butt games. we had a fixed budget and could not do it all. Since when do the richest bastards on the planet have budget issues when it comes to competing with Sony and Nintendo? Tens of thousands of developers and billions of dollars and everything MS has ever done is crap. Ugh, the irony...

Holland man on rabbit sex charge

HOLLAND: A man faced a Michigan court yesterday charged with having sexual relations with a rabbit and the sadistic killing of 17 other rabbits whose carcasses were found dumped in a back alley.

Robert Malda, 29, Holland, appeared briefly before The Honorable Allan Moore yesterday charged with having allegedly committed the offences over the past three weeks.

Malda, who runs the popular internet blog slash.org, sat quietly during the hearing at which he was represented by Doug Marr, Esq.

No plea was entered to a total of 21 charges laid by police against Malda.

Malda, who lives with his wife, was arrested by detectives at his home early yesterday morning.

The investigation began after skinned and partially-skinned dead and dying rabbits began to appear in an alley off York Street in late July.

The alley adjoined a building in which Malda occasionally works.

Before Malda was charged police alleged some of the rabbits had been thrown from some height into the alley.

In addition to 17 rabbits, police also found a dead guinea pig, caked in feces and blood.

Alarmed at the continuing discovery of freshly killed rabbits, some whose genitalia had allegedly been mutilated, detectives began contacting city pet stores to determine who had been buying rabbits.

Police found that a credit card in Malda's name had been used to purchase the animals at a number of pet shops. Police also seized a security video showing a man buying a pet.

In all Malda was charged with 17 counts of acts of aggravated cruelty upon an animal between July 20 and August 11.

He was further charged with committing an act of bestiality with an animal between 3am and 4am on August 1.

Malda was further charged with two counts of possession of cannabis.

His attorney, Mr Marr, told Judge Moore that Malda would not be applying for bail today but would make a formal application next Friday, August 19.

Mr Moore formally refused Malda bail and ordered him to reappear before the court next week.

MS released a bundle geared towards less discriminating users, and as such, have created a situation for the game dev to cater to that lowest common denominator?

Right. The average gamer is more savvy than MS and the grandparent post gives them credit for- there's no better way to turn off your most valuable market (I'm guessing teens and 20-something males) than by making your machine something that isn't dedicated 100% for them to play cool games on- it's for suckers, it's for kids, it's for families, it's for people to watch movies or listen to music on, it's to browse the net with, it's an appliance, (and the worst possible, but MS hasn't gone there yet) it's educational.
