Logitech Unveils Smart Mouse
Rob writes "Computer business Review is reporting that Logitech International, one of the world's
largest makers of mice and keyboards, has added to its already large range of peripherals
with a new mouse that can receive and process wireless communications from a PC. The new
fangled mouse is capable of two-way communication with the PC, it can inform users when
their mouse battery is low, and
notify them when they receive an email or instant message. Other features include
laser tracking, 10 buttons, volume control and probably too many other things."
Goes without saying that there is no support for Linux - would probably act only as a simple mouse. From their site :
:-
IBM® or compatible system
Windows® 95, 98, Me, NT 4.0, 2000, XP
Available PS/2 or USB port
USB requires Windows® 98 or higher
Also from their site, wrt mice
there are no plans to develop software for non-Windows operating systems
Logitech have always make good hardware with poor software support. I have a scanner for which they only provided (buggy) drivers for Win 95/98. Win95/98 !?! Not even for WinNT! I have to keep a dual boot set up just for this POS.
What good is any of that if they can't make coffee?
