ESR Gets Job Offer From Microsoft

epsalon writes "Eric S. Raymond, the well known Open Source Evangelist, recently received a job offer from Microsoft, that he strongly refused. Is this another attempt to lure Open Source figures or just ignorance?" From his post: "I called [the Microsoft HR rep], who told me my name had been passed to him by his research team. I indicated to him that I thought somebody was probably having a little joke at his expense, and promised him an email reply."

Your hatred is so deep that you post AC, unwilling to put a name behind it. Your opinion is noted and given due weight - 0.

Yeah, let's examine your comparison for a second because I tink noone tinks gud nomore.

Traffic laws created to save lives. Traffic lights, in operation for public safety.

Rules of english created to help communicate. Word in existance to aid exchange of idea.

If idea exchanged, language successful. If not, you try more. If you stop, light successful. If you don't stop and get hit and die, traffic light unsuccessful(some say you one unsuccessful) and you dead.

Some rules meant followed close. Others not so important to justify being arsehole.
