iPod Video Coming to a Car Near You
_am99_ writes "In the "one more thing" media event today, an iPod that can play Video was announced. The initial content seems to be music videos that can be purchased from the iTunes Music Store." In related news aquachannel writes "Apple has just updated their iPodYourCar page to include a slew of new car companies. This means that there'll be a lot of cars that you can buy off the showroom floor and use your iPod with your car - right off the floor and out of the box."

Why is everyone here so obsessed with OGG. It's only Linux people that care about it just because they're open format zealots. Everyone else uses MP3, and apple isn't going to implement something that 1% of the population will use.
Who cares. What's the deal with all the Apple fans? Their hardware is mediocre, audio quality of the ipod is mediocre, it plays just a few formats and two of them are useless, battery is not easily replacable, the designs are just plain and dumb, their mice sucks (even the "mighty" one), osx gui sucks and makes me feel i am using windows 95 again, itunes is a slow crappy program with a horrible interface.
Yes i am trolling but get a life people, Apple are not remotely good, they're just another company good a hyping their sub-par products. My player beats anything they apple can throw at it, better audio quality, smaller, works without any special crappy software on all modern operating systems.
Continue to buy Apple by all means, to bad you're getting ripped off though.
Umm. . . just what exactly would be the point of HD video on a 2.5" screen with a resolution roughly equivalent to that of standard TV?

Apple has finally abandonned Firewire...
For the first time, no shipping iPod supports Firewire. Lets remember that the original iPod (which I still own) only supported firewire and did not have the special dock connector but a regular firewire socket on it. Seems like Apple has thrown in the towel. Its interesting to note that the new iMac G5 does not have firewire 800 either. And even the powermac has a single firewire 800 port (and 2 x 400)...
