NASA BlueMarble: Next Generation
gbnewby writes "Remember the NASA Blue Marble composite image of earth from space, completely cloud free? Today a whole new series was released showing earth scenes from cloudless days across all 12 months of 2004. These beautiful images come in many different resolutions and formats. NASA even provided some animations. We and others have set up web, ftp and rsync mirrors; let the Torrents begin!"
Hey asshole,
Go take a fucking long walk of a short fucking pier, you pencil headed geek mother fucker.
With love, from Warren fucking New Jersey.
OK, the first thing that pops out at me when I look at this is the fact that a lot of the world is green. Even in places where you expect "urban deforestation", i.e. New York, it's pretty much all green. Looking down at Brazil, etc...green. This isn't necessarily to say that deforestation isn't happening, but Blue Marble ought to be a wake-up call for those that get worked up as a result of all the hype and scary newspeak that makes people think that Earth is practically balding.
