Royal Society Issues IP Charter
An anonymous reader writes "The Economist
and the Guardian
both have stories about the release of the
Adelphi Charter – an international blueprint for how
intellectual property should be made – by Britain's Royal
Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacture and Commerce.
The Economist says “The Adelphi group are a varied crew
ranging from Gilberto Gil, the Brazilian culture minister (and pop
star) to Sir John Sulston, a Nobel-winning scientist who helped
decode the human genome, and James Boyle, a law professor at Duke
University. They believe that the intellectual-property system is
starting to lean so far in favor of private enrichment that it no
longer serves the public interest.” The charter calls for
evidence-based policy, and a balance between rights protection and
the public domain. It also condemns business method and software
patents."
I Am Jeremiah Dixon

It Was My Fate From Birth
To Make My Mark Upon The Earth...
He Calls Me Charlie Mason
A Stargazer Am I
It Seems That I Was Born

They'd Cut Me Out For Baking Bread
But I Had Other Dreams Instead

Sailing To Philadelphia
To Draw The Line
The Mason-Dixon Line
Now You're A Good Surveyor, Dixon
But I Swear You'll Make Me Mad
The West Will Kill Us Both
You Gullible Geordie Lad
You Talk Of Liberty
How Can America Be Free
A Geordie And A Baker's Boy
In The Forests Of The Iroquois...
Now Hold Your Head Up, Mason
See America Lies There
The Morning Tide Has Raised
The Capes Of Delaware
Come Up And Feel The Sun
A New Morning Is Begun
Another Day Will Make It Clear
Why Your Stars Should Guide Us Here...

Sailing To Philadelphia
To Draw The Line

Welcome to Mission Impropable.
In only a few hours, I will train a group of 10 "Microsoft SQL Server" DBAs in
using MSSQL OLAP. I just spent maybe 20 minutes today on the crapper reading up
on what "Dimensions" "Measures" and "Cubes" are... what's a "DataWarehouse" what's
a Datamart (Gonna talk to them about this for two hours, while stall hehehe). I
spent another fucking two hours to get the Microsoft samples setup on my laptop.
Chances are I am going to burn myself badly today, because usually as an Unix
Specialist I don't touch Microcrap even with a 100 foot pole. Chances are those
fucks are never going to the difference because I learn fast and I've pulled this
off before.
Can I, a Unix professional with only very little background in Microsoft Crap
Tech pull it off and train a bunch of MSSQL DBAs how to implement a Datawhorehouse
in their backyards?? Will I get paid, or be spit upon??? Stay tuned, I'll keep you posted!
... is über cool.
I'm in doubt which is cooler, he or Caetano Veloso.
Search for music from both, specially the lyrics...
putting mail in other people's boxes is illegal because if you can put things in, you can try to sneak stuff out. many things in this country are dependant on semi-reliable postal delivery. imagine if a neighbor who didn't like you dropped off pamphlets and happened to "lose" you VISA bill for you.
Snowden and Manning are heroes.
in the US door to door lettersare supposed to be placed in the door or any recepticle not labled "US Mail"
