High Dynamic Range (HDR) Technology Analysis
THG writes "CoolTechZone.com has published an analysis of Valve's High Dynamic Range, or HDR, technology that enhances graphics in video games. This new video/gaming graphics technology is expected to debut soon with Valve's Half-Life 2: Lost Coast title. According to the article, 'HDR, or High Dynamic Range, is a lighting process that's been designed to emulate in-game or artificially generated lighting to closely mirror the changes we see in the real world. In simpler terms, HDR allows you to make the objects brighter by allowing them to use the full brightness capabilities of the monitor and not just the brightness level at which they have been shot with (or rendered with) in the scene.'"
Why exactly is this informative? The site is not slashdotted...and even if it was, I believe copying the entire damned article is usually not considered fair use. While I agree that the originators of the article appreciate teh lack of bandwidth sucking that this post may provide, the post itself is definitely NOT informative. What exactly is the modder smoking? This is redundant. A troll. Quit screwing people over. Allow the world to see the website these fine people have so painstakingly developed. As for the next post after the first one, saying things have been out for a week. This may be a 'late posting' as sometimes the damn things get accepted to slashdot and still don't show up for several days or even a week or more in the instance of book reviews esepecially.
st4rted work on
What kind of poorly written shit is this? Bad grammar, numerous factual errors, and lousy explanations! This is what happens when you let any fucker who wants to write articles. I, for one, do not welcome our talentless hack overlords, but I would like to remind them that with my status as a person of normal intelligence, I could find them an editor who knows his or her fucking job.
