Mac OS X x86 Put To The Test
stivi writes "ZDNet has tested Mac OS X x86 on a Toshiba laptop. The article discusses installation process, performance and power consumption comparison and has a thorough photo gallery as well." From the article: "Mac OS X will not be available on any old x86 PC, though, as Apple wants to retain control over its hardware platform. From the company's point of view, this is an understandable position, as the margins on Apple-branded computers are much higher than is usual for standard x86 PCs. Were Apple to put the x86 version of its operating system on general release, Dell would begin to manufacture Apple clones. This would put enormous pressure on the price of Apple's own computers -- something the company is naturally keen to avoid."
Must . . . protect . . . monopoly!
"You don't see V12 engines in Hyundais either"
Completely pointless comparison, as a V12 engine has nothing at all to do with "smoothness", "quality" etc.
99% of the people in the US do not even known where their state is on a map, much less how many states there are in the US. And the US is supposed to be a leader in the world. LOL.
PS - I am from the US and it makes me sick how stupid the US citizens are as a whole.
Actually VW and Seat use the same platforms too ;) Leon -> Golf, Ibiza -> Polo etc ..
I dont see what that guys likes about Lexus' - while I usually care more about performance than looks, I've never seen a decent looking Lexus, and they always have those crappy tail-lights. Also Hyundais actually look better than Lexus', though I've no idea about the performance differences. I'll stick with my company Civic for now, and when I'm earning enough I'll get a Colt Evo.. =p
which is totally what she said
This is known as Re-Badging, and almost all car manufacturers do it. It happens all the time. The Chevy Aveo? It's actually a Daewoo(Read: don't buy one because Daewoos are pieces of shit.) Not to mention the fact that: Volkswagen is part of the Volkswagen group (VAG), along with: * Audi (the former post-WWII Auto Union/DKW)--bought from Daimler-Benz in 1964. * NSU--bought in 1969 by Volkswagen's Audi division, a brand not used since 1977 * SEAT--majority owned since 1987 * Skoda--bought in 1991 * Bentley--bought in 1998 from Vickers along with Rolls-Royce * Bugatti--name bought in 1998 * Lamborghini --bought in 1998 (from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen#Corporate_ structure
Which would explain the similarities mentioned earlier.
It's a lot easier and cheaper to sell one car with 3 different names than it is to sell 3 differents cars with 3 different names.
Fucking ignorant racist. 1) Korea doesn't have sweat shops. 2) The sweat shops are in other countries. 3) It's american companies who are outsourcing these jobs to other countries.
They are plenty of shit hardware american companies you dumbass. The reason why you see so many of the asian ones is because they are thriving.
