Consortium Tackles Linux Mobile Phone Standards

An anonymous reader writes "LinuxDevices.com is running an article stating that ten companies have recently banded together to launch a cross-industry consortium to further advance embedded Linux platforms. They hope to make 'Linux into a plug-and-play mobile phone platform comparable to Microsoft's Windows Mobile Smartphone OS, but with greater flexibility and lower costs. The LiPS (Linux Phone Standard) Forum intends to help make Linux a more standardized, interoperable mobile phone OS.' Meanwhile, some market research suggests that Linux is already giving Windows Mobile a run for its money."

Apple, based on Linux, is the hottest os in the world.
Windows, based on crap, rules the market.
Linux, free, is known as HARD TO USE.

The weird part is that, if the GEEKS actually said, OK, THAT IS NOT
WORKING WELL, LETS MAKE IT BETTER. They could rule the market.

But instead, they don't have a clue on marketing, and think
people love to google to fix things. I hate fixing things.
Most do. You love it, cause you love Linux/Distro's.

So being in last place on the OS Market, I would do something better.
Pay attention to DFS, get involved, and fix things.
Flatfish has great points. You don't have to like him.
But don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

Stop defending, make better and rule.
    DEFEND, and LOSE.

Even in a POOR economy, people are Windows on the Desktop.
Worse, is sad to lose when you are free.
