It sounds to me like he's angling for a position in the Bush administration, such as head of FEMA.

I think that's exactly what happening. Jerk Thindickson wrote a lame book full of shit. People are calling him on it. They aren't saying, "Fucking remove that lame moron's book from the market so that no one may ever read it, thereby censoring him!" they are saying, "That fucking book sucks some balls and no one should dumb themselves to that level of stupidity by reading it." The former is unacceptable. The latter is free speech, along the same lines as Thompson's lame-ass book. Thompson's the asshole supporting censorship by asking that reveiws be removed because he doesn't like them. When he wrote that letter, there were only 33 negative reveiws on Amazon.com; he wanted all of them gone. If he would have read any of them, he would have noted that most of them of actual reveiws of the book's copy (or at least the first chapter), rather than personal flames. Only like eight should have been removed. If he didn't want negative reveiws, he should have written something that wasn't absolute shit.
