Slashdot Mirror

VLC Media Player 0.8.4 is out

mctk writes "This new release features many improvements including a new VLC cone, new Mac OS X wizard and extend controls dialogs, tree playlist skins2 support, HTTP interface CGI handling, linux binary codecs loader, UPnP and Bonjour service discovery, shoutcast stream forwarding, new languages... Have a look here for the full list of changes. Binary packages and the source code are available on the VLC download page." Always been one of my favorites on any platform.

      Seriously, Digg has beeten slashdot on most of the stories in a long time, Slashdot is going downhill, crappy stories, dups, and trolls that have nothing better to do to insult $fanboy(n);

      Im not too fond of blog postings or troll comments from Slashdot, but even just the RSS feeds, Digg has more stories that are posted sooner and are more relevent.

      Not that slashdot or digg is a regular news site that has breaking story. They are on the other hand, a news aggregator, and as such, should try and gather relevent news in a timely basis. Digg is out performing Slashdot on this currently and the statistics reflect it.

      Wired had a good story on how digg is gaining ground.
      Hows about slashdot posts that, mabie they can learn something.
