DS Meet Hopes to Match Nintendo DS Gamers

A reader write:"Only a few weeks since the release of Mario Kart DS, Nintendo's first entry into online wi-fi gaming, a new service called DS Meet has launched. The website allows you to do several things that aren't possible from within Nintendo's own Wi-Fi Connect website, such as searching for online users based on their DS user names. While the site is still in development, it hopes to give Nintendo DS players many more options that are not available elsewhere."

Now I can track down those cheating sods who disconnect whenever I overtake them in Mario Kart!

there are many sites out there that do the same. its just a database with name, friend code, email. one should also consider that sharing friend codes and playing only with friends thins out the userbase of the global matchmaker system.

While my feelings about Nintendo not offering a Live-type service (with friends lists, messages, etc) are mixed, it's nice to see that the DS community can organize itself to complete the online gaming experience. Maybe this will push Nintendo to create an official version of this type of website.

I could use my global username ("Kazzahdrane") on my DS. It's 11 letters long and, you guessed it, the DS has a name limit of 10 letters :( This would actually help people find me on the wireless service since everyone knows I use that name.
