Microsoft Testing Its Own 'Google Base'
sheasie! writes "eWeek is reporting that Microsoft is readying an online marketplace, code-named Fremont, which is apparently in response to a similar feature that rival Google Inc. introduced a few weeks ago." From the article: "The software giant will enhance the Fremont listings with localized maps, and make them available through Microsoft's newly revamped Internet portal, now known as Live.com, according to the company."
Internet Explorer 7 blocks AdSense-crap by default, which will turn Googles already ridiculously low income-stream into a mere trickle. Of course, this will not stop the zealots to stuff more IPO into Larry Page's eager throat.

A war with Microsoft against Google ! With SlashDot's support hopefully google can be as successful as the last company slashdot supported in the war against Microsoft: Netscape.
The slashdot effect ! And Slashdot has to give them both airtime as they're both big advertisers. It's not like ask jeeves, which has been slashSuppressed ( a term used to describe a search engine's absence on slashdot due to not being an advertiser)
