RIAA vs Linux and DVDs
PlayfullyClever writes "The entertainment industry has put itself on the fast-track to destruction, using well-proven tactics as explained in Preventing DVD Playback on Linux Like Prohibition in the 1920's. Are their heavy-handed tactics to lock up and control everything we touch signs of plain old human stubborness?" Or more likely- greed.
Or more likely- greed.
Ding ding ding! We have a winner!
I get Linux users who want to drink watching DVD's.
ASCII a stupid question, get a stupid ANSI!
This cheap digg story farming is getting old. I hate you playfullyclever
Most players bankrupted in 1 day, can you survive Virtual Inc? [iclod.com]
Pointing out that most people quit after a single attempt at playing the game isn't exactly the best advert. Was it you advertising iClod too? Something like 89% of players didn't play for longer than their first "day" (which lasted about ten minutes in real time)? You do realise that's saying that the game sucks, don't you?
The people behind iClod make pretty boring games. I tried to stick with iClod, but they decided it was too much work to listen to the complaints and make the game interesting, so they shut it down. I'm not surprised there's a similar level of attrition with their other games too.
This day I have made camp by the River Iz, on the borders of the lands of Yuluk and Valcryn. These kingdoms have been at war since the Fifth Epoch of Ram, and though they speak the same tongue and worship the same gods, they battle endlessly, each generation of their mahood being sacrificed on the altar of death and destruction.
In the distance I can see a small raft floating down the Iz, filled with cargo, and almost as many bowmen, lest one side or the other, in confusion or madness, seek to destroy it. For the trader, this land is dangerous, and yet as is always the case with war, danger means coin.
