Mel was a healthy young lad living with his folks, close to Yellowstone National Park. More than anything else he loved the zoo. Every day upon returning from nursery school he would beg his parents to "goto the zoo!!" If his parents lovingly informed him that there would be no trip that day, he would nod seriously, dark eyes flashing, and go to his bookshelf to learn about animals. Mel was shot on the toilet by a stray bullet meant for a yak.
