Mastering Ajax Websites
An anonymous reader writes to tell us that IBM DeveloperWorks has an interesting article introducing the uninitiated to the world of Ajax. From the article: "Ajax, which consists of HTML, JavaScript technology, DHTML, and DOM, is an approach that helps you transform clunky Web interfaces into interactive Ajax applications. The author, an Ajax expert, demonstrates how these technologies work together. Ajax is more than just the latest fad -- it's your stepping stone to build better Web sites through efficient use of your time."
Not where I would start when mastering Ajax Amersterdam. Here would be my primer:
The Official Site
or The English Offical Site
also their Fixture List for the '05-'06 Season
then there is Tickets site
So there you go all the Ajax Websites to get you started!
Concentrate more on promoting than on demoting. The real goal here is to find the juicy good stuff and let others read it. Do not promote personal agendas. Do not let your opinions factor in. Try to be impartial about this. Simply disagreeing with a comment is not a valid reason to mark it down. Likewise, agreeing with a comment is not a valid reason to mark it up. The goal here is to share ideas. To sift through the haystack and find needles. And to keep the children who like to spam Slashdot in check.
Frankly I'm sick and tired of newbies with moderator points going around moderating people down because they're ignorant of the way the moderation system is supposed to work. The above post wasn't a troll or spam or even flamebait, yet you took time out of your busy schedule at 1am to moderate it down as overrated because you disagreed with the content. I've been reading and posting to Slashdot since the days when we could type in whatever username we wanted and accounts didn't exist... carpetbagging moderators like you guys just ruin the fun of the site for everyone. Slashdot USED to be a quirky fun "News For Nerds" site, but poor moderation really kills it these days. Hopefully you will get yours in the end in meta-moderation. Here, go ahead and moderate this down for all I care.
