Microsoft Sees IBM as Biggest Threat

Anonycat writes "Bill Gates gave an interview at the Consumer Electronics Show, claiming that IBM is the rival company Microsoft has their sights set on. From the article: 'People tend to get over focused on one of our competitors ... We've always seen that ... I'm never going to change the press' view about what the cool company to write about is. That's Google number 1 and Apple number 2 ... [IBM has] four times the employees that I have, way more revenues than I have.'"

    Unless you enjoy watching "follow the leader" racing and hate lead changes. The only way to pass is when a car pits or crashes or breaks down. Now NASCAR is REAL racing.

    I (Id/Ego/Superego, 25 years) remember reading news items on the past (this date, yesterday) where when a company was mentioned (gossip, rumors) and the quote (stock, market) would appear (insight, visible, shown) next to the name (identity). Now this trend (fashion, cool) about putting links (html) next (after) to names (identity) is getting out of control (dictatorship)!

    Just four letters is okay, but when you distract your visitor with useless links, you're driving them away. What's the problem with just linking the company name to a page where you can read the news, see the stock value, etc...? That's the whole point of hyperlink! :/
