Intel Makes 45nm Chip

dolphinlover writes "Intel announced today that it created its first microchip using the 45 nanometer manufacturing process that it says will go into its processors in the second half of 2007.     When I first read the headline I thought it said a 45mm chip, which is considerably less impressive.

    Recent news says AMD is readying 45nm for production now, or last I read it did. That might have been in december, so I don't know if it's still current. If it is then it seems Intel is behind the 8 ball again and this is hype.
