U.S. Plan To Fight The Internet Revealed

geniese writes "The BBC is reporting on a recently declassified document that details the U.S. Military's intentions regarding warfare and the Internet." From the article: "Perhaps the most startling aspect of the roadmap is its acknowledgement that information put out as part of the military's psychological operations, or Psyops, is finding its way onto the computer and television screens of ordinary Americans. 'Information intended for foreign audiences, including public diplomacy and Psyops, is increasingly consumed by our domestic audience,' it reads."

It was a big disappointment. Not enough levels, and the story could have used more depth.
    Graphics were ok tho.

The world is going to shits because of environmental issues. 20% of the Earth's population consummes 80% of the resources. The Kyoto accord* aims at reducing that figure (80%). But herein lies the problem. This will solve nothing as the remaining 80% people will eventually catch up to the top 20% and make the world unliveable. Thus the problem is not 80% polution, but the existence of the extra 80% population.

*note that emissions are just a tiny part of the problem compared to general consuming. When the remaining 4+ billion people start to eat the same way as westerners, that's when real environmental disasters will occur. We cannot expect anyone to live below the generally accepted quality of life level, even people in poor countries as they become richer. Car pooling, recycling, curbs on factory emissions, etc are great and desired but can only help so much.
