Pittsburgh Professors Challenge Darwin
Syberghost writes "Darwin's Theory of Evolution comes under an interesting attack from an American anthropologist and an Italian biochemist, according to an article from University of Pittsburgh's school newspaper. In a nutshell, Schwartz and Maresca argue that change is not gradual as Darwin stated, but comes rapidly in response to drastic mutations caused by shifting environmental conditions."
Sadly, despite the fact that the guy article isn't really challenging evolution, or even actually providing any genuinely new insights, you can bet that the illiterate religious nuts are going to be all over this as further "proof" of Creationism. (sorry, they're calling it Intelligent Design now, aren't they?) After all, if the "scientists" can't make up their minds, clearly they must all be wrong.
Some times I think the only real cure for the kind of idiocy involved is global thermonuclear urban renewal.
Are there any good alternatives to slashdot?
What part of Slashdot is worth keeping? The old news? The dupes? The ugly interface? The karma whoring? The pseudo-insightful 14-year-olds spouting unintelligible bullshit? The 30-year-old stabbing at Microsoft from the their parent's basement? The broken user interaction model? The slavish devotion to a socialist world order?
Frankly, the only thing I like about Slashdot is the way you nerds have 'Lord of the Flies'ed yourselves into a pecking order like any other social group, and it's only amusing because so many of you pretend to be above that shit.
That, and I like AC trolling you dicks into flamewars.
...these two are obviously pawns of Pat Robertson. No real scientist would make these claims. Stupid religious idiots...
