UK MPs Approve Compulsory ID Cards

Idimmu Xul writes "BBC News is reporting that the UK House of Commons has approved legislation making identity cards compulsory." From the article: "The plans, rejected by peers last month, will now go back before the House of Lords. Tories warned of "creeping compulsion" and Lib Dems said the "fight against compulsory ID cards" would go on."

The guy up above has me filtered, so we can talk the moron can't see it.

This is a perfect example of the kind of guy whose mother should have taken a coat hanger and performed a self-abortion. My guess is that he is not well liked by either colleagues or family and probably has sympathies towards the belgians and french. Had he been alive in the 30's and 40's, he probably might have even been a sympathizer towards germany, as they would have represented the "right" way to deal with protestors.

If he's managed to trick some woman into marrying him, it would be funny to watch him in bed, as I'm sure the woman just basically lies there, closes her eyes and is praying to her god for the little slime on top of her to finish quickly before she loses her lunch. She's probably considering suicide (remember, she has no self-esteem, or would not be with this guy), but hopefully will get over this and just leave the little pissant.

And the best part of this? The guy has me filtered, so he can't see me. It's like the guy who says LALALALALALAL closes his eyes and covers his ears so he can't see you. I'm kicking the guy in the arse and he still is saying LALALALALALALA.

This is too much fun. I'll probably do this to all his posts!

Are the NSA wiretaps lawful? Yes, the president is excercising a power granted by article 2 of our constitution during wartime. Congress can either (1) cancel the war on terror, thus negating his power or (2) pass a constitutional amendment restricting wartime powers, making it illegal. While I see a lot of blathering, I don't see either step taking place.

..., but have they stopped? Probably not.

What effect has the revelation of their use had on society? For the majority of US citizens who have contacts outside of the US? None, there are no reports of anyone who's been injured by tapping; no violation of trade secrets, noones personal property have been infringed... On the otherhand, I'm sure that anyone who had contacts with terrorist-related entities has now either encoded their speech, shortened their messages, or switched to alternative (electronic) secure communications. So, in a sense, we've made made it harder for our society to detect harm coming our way, which in my opinion is the real crime.
