Shortlist of Possible ET Addresses

An anonymous reader writes "Yahoo News is reporting that Astronomer Margaret Turnbull of the Carnegie Institution has released a 'top 10' list of potential inhabitable star systems. NASA is planning on using this top 10 list as the targets for their Terrestrial Planet Finder a 'system of two orbiting observatories scheduled for launch by 2020.'"

    I thought they were branded crackpots.

    And even SETI (which significantly adds to the greenhouse effect) is considered crackpot.

    Now, scientists are quick to throw out et on one hand, then remember their scientific creed, and then happily accept govenment funds to point big dishes at random places and record lots of numbers.

    Is tis CAPTCHA in slashcode? is the dictionary list in slashcode's cvs too? I would call it source, so technically it *should* be in the slashcode cvs. I am going to check
