PSP Devs Should Pony Up
President of development house 'Ready at Dawn' Didier Malenfant has given a short interview to GamesIndustry.biz. In the piece, he lays out his feeling that developers are to blame for the lackluster title library of Sony's handheld console. From the article: "'Everything is compromised, and it bugs the hell out of me when you hear a lot of developers saying, Well, we can't do this that way because it's a handheld game, or We can't do this because it doesn't have a second analog stick.' 'Those are all excuses,' Malenfant continued - observing that the original PSone controller didn't have any analog sticks, 'And there were great games on that.'"
Dear insert game developer here (I recommend Electronic Arts)
Sony has recently installed rootkit software on my Windows boxen because my sister tried to play one of their so-called "artists"' latest release on "compact disc." Because I was rooted, I am boycotting all Sony products and I am also boycotting everyone who is complicit in the production of proprietary hardware and software. Please do not release any titles on the so-called "Universal" Media Disc format or the "Memory" Stick Pro Duo. I am boycotting both of these formats until Sony promises to make them available for homebrew development.
I own a Nintendo DS and a portable DVD player for my portable entertainment needs. If you release anything for either of these platforms I will purchase it, as long as you stop producing software titles for Sony platforms as well.
I have a lot of support.
Sincerely,
