Yahoo! Launches Local News

prostoalex writes "Yahoo! News front page added local news today. Available for logged-in users right on the front page, local news are also delivered at location-specific URLs." There are a few words on the new feature at Search Engine Journal.

    is there any reason I wouldn't just go to my local paper's website instead? I live in the biggest city in my state and we have a whopping.... let me count here.... one major paper. I could go to the half-dozen tv-stations' websites, but generally they just have (badly) transcribed versions of their aired stories. I don't see any god reason for this other than giving Y! another venue to sell advertising.
