IT Certification Less Important Now?

lpq writes "IT certifications, popular after the dot-com bust, seem to be hurting careers now according to this article in the current Eweek.com issue. Guess employers are getting hip to the idea that those who don't have experience or can't "do", get certified..."

    Ouch. Looks like you will be posting from a starting score of 0 for a while.

    I know it can be tempting to go for that first post, but be sure you are ready for the reprocussions(sp?). Unless you seek a permanent home at -1, you should probably wait till you get modded up a few times before bringing on the karma-fuck that a first post can be.

    If you are haveing trouble getting modded up, just follow these simple instructions.

    1. Repeat what other upwordly modded posts already say. This may cause you to be modded redundent so wait for the inevitable dupe and try to copy original posts.
    2. Uhh, I guess thats it.

    It is certainly possible to be modded up through other techniques, but I think you will find the 'Follow the herd' method to be by far the easiest.

    Additional upmodding tips: Bush bad, Microsoft bad, RMS good, Apple good, Sony bad unless PS3 then good, Nintendo good except Wii, Microsoft bad, Bill Gates bad, Linux good, BSD license kinda good but not as good as GPL, global warming good, religion bad, Microsoft bad. Defend Al Gore when anyone brings up that internet shit. Socialism is misunderstood and awesome. Capitalism is the only true evil. Making money is bad.

    Just follow these simple guidelines and you'll have excellent karma in no time. Not that karma is really useful, but whatever.

    It's best to stay away from controversial companies like Disney. However, if Steve Jobs becomes CEO at some point, the Slashdot will love the company fervently.
