Peter Moore Talks PS3, Wii, Portable 360
kukyfrope writes "Peter Moore recently led an intimate round-table discussion at E3 where journalists were allowed to pluck his brain on current industry issues. His comments cover PS3's high-price announcement, downplay rumors surrounding a portable Xbox, and actually admits he would like a Wii! 'Look, it's not partisan; I love what Nintendo is doing. They're in a different space.'"
The fact stands that if you dont know who he is, then you are clueless into the industry as a whole and thus have a lot more reading up to do before you even begin to understand what was posted. Main problem being you would have no clue and thus would be easily swayed by what he said because your a idiot to the facts.
Its the main problem with Journalism today too. Too much of somebodys opinion, not enough facts.
"Slashdot, where telling the truth is overrated but lying is insightful."
Now that the bombshell news about the digital copy protection stuff not going to happen during the next gen console lifetimes, the PS3 looks like it will widen the 80 million sales gap Sony had compared to the Xbox.
PS3:
-------------------
499 - 1080p movies, 1080p games - no Wifi
599 - 1080p movies, 1080p games - Wifi, more drive space
25Gig drive for all games, Linux, games already running at 1080p, massive warchest of console exclusives, PSP wireless integration, tilt controller, amazing online service with free play for all games and movie/music store
360:
-------------------
299 - Worthless
399 - 720p games, no movies
499(399+100) - 720p games, no movies, Wifi
650(399+100+150) - 720p games,720p movies,Wifi - guess at 150 bucks for the HD-DVD add on
Ouch! That's a lot of money for such a weak and troubled console!
Throw in 50 bucks a year for online play, the hardware defects, the lack of any reasonable backwards compatibility, the lack of the major exclusives Sony has, the mess that 360 graphics are(jaggies, screen tearing, almost complete lack of affine filtering), mostly pc developer support
The 360 would be a ripoff at half its current price. It's like a overpriced Dreamcast.
