    presumption of innocence.

    Again, we're talking about Britain here. presumption of innocence applies to continental Europe (whose law is derived from Roman and Napoleonic principles), not Britain.

    At least that's what the situation is now. If dictator Bokassa succeeds in resurrecting the EU constitution, presumption of innocence will also be gone on the continent.
