Screenshot Accounts 'Delisted' on Flickr
An anonymous reader writes "Flickr and Second Life fans seem to have collided head-on over a little known policy on Flickr that 'delists' an account from public areas, including search, when more than half of your content is non-photographic in nature. Flickr stated that most people searching the site are looking for photographic content so the restriction is in place merely to keep the site focused on its original intent. From the article: 'As a result, many screenshots on Flickr are AWOL — at least as far as the general public is concerned. That's angering and confusing some of the people who carefully stage scenes in the popular virtual world and religiously post the results online.'"
You might want to invest in a spell checker...
Bad analogies are like waxing a monkey with a rainbow.
And you might want to invest in a larger vocabulary... look up 'posthumous' and 'karma'.
Ah, yes. Captialism at work. If you don't like Flicker's policies, use something else. If enough people do the same, Flicker will see a measurable decrease in the usage of their service, the number of hits their advertisers receive will decrease, and Flicker will either change their policy or lose money. A grand idea in theory, but problematic since it a) takes time for this to develop and b) it requires effort and change on the user's part. It's too bad that Flicker is a company and not a woman, because I've found rape to be an excellent behavior deterrent. Don't like being raped? Then don't do whatever it is that displeases me, and the rapes will stop. If Flicker were a woman we'd have 100% screenshot accounts back within the hour, believe me.
i agree
quit yer f*cking whining and find someplace else to put your pictures.
